If you're using Mac OS X v10.3 (Panther), and you miss the old Desktop Printers of Mac OS 9 days, don't despair! Just open Print Setup Utility (click on Setup Printers in the Print & Fax pane of System Preferences), then drag any of your printers in the printer list directly to the desktop—a shortcut icon to that printer will be placed on the desktop. You can drag documents onto that icon to print them, folders onto it to print a list of files in them, or double click on it to keep an eye on your print jobs. |
