Lion—Mac OS X v10.7
In July 2011 Apple released the new Mac OS X operating system v10.7—Lion—as a download-only upgrade. While any substantial OS upgrade has the potential to be a major headache with incompatibilities and unexpected behaviours, this new distribution model is presenting additional challenges during the installation process. In addition, this upgrade cannot run many of the older versions of some software.

Lion brings many valuable features, so it is a worthwhile upgrade. However, it is advisable to approach this upgrade in a considered way to ensure minimum downtime for your business.
